Our mission is to provide prompt, professional coverage of high-interest local news stories in a community underserved by traditional media outlets. Tosa Forward News is 100% about Wauwatosa, taking stock of everything going on in the city and sharing the stories of the 50,000 or so residents who give it life.
NEWS SUSTAINS A FREE PEOPLE
Tosa Forward News' foundation rests on the bedrock values of objective journalism, including accuracy, fairness, depth of reporting, clarity of writing and watchdog reports that hold those in power accountable. It intends to be an indispensable information resource empowering citizens to strengthen their democracy.
ALL THINGS TOSA
Become a regular reader of Tosa Forward News to stay up to date on what’s going on across Wauwatosa, from City Hall to Mayfair Mall, and from the neighborhoods of Tosa East Towne to Tosa Heights.
The news coverage is designed to focus on several key topics of interest to city readers: our local (and state) government, our schools, new and changing businesses, the lives of our neighbors and neighborhoods and updates on construction across the city.
FUTURE GROWTH
Tosa Forward News also will be launching and growing a Local Data Center, where residents can go to get key information about the city, such as the names of elected officials, crime data and restaurant listings.
If you have a suggestion for coverage or information you’d like to see us dig up, drop us an email at editor@tosanews.com.

ABOUT THE EDITOR
David Paulsen is an Tosa East Towne resident with more than 25 years of experience as a professional journalist, including three years as breaking news editor of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel in a former decade and, in the current decade, as a reporter and editor for Episcopal News Service.
A good journalist is not without personal biases, but rather someone who is aware of those biases and works to minimize their influence on the objectivity of the reporting. Full disclosure: The following are Dave's acknowledged biases, which he makes a good faith effort not to let interfere with Tosa Forward News' coverage.
- Father of three East Tosa sons (Longfellow and Tosa East).
- Regular occupant of the Tosa East High School Football cheering section.
- Runner, cyclist, daily dog walker.
- Longtime Tosa East Towne Neighborhood Association board member, but still curious about all Tosa neighborhoods.
- Lifelong fan of the Boston Red Sox (with an adopted appreciation for the Brewers).
- Believer in the rule of law and good governance, regardless of the party in charge.
- Lover of crosswalks, skeptical of (some) bump-outs, belatedly accepting of roundabouts and a stickler for courtesy when navigating the zipper merge.
Tosa Forward News is a publication of Big Bay Ventures LLC, a small communications company that is owned by David Paulsen, based in Tosa East Towne and operated part-time out of a rented office on Greenfield Avenue in West Allis.
