The East Tosa bar and restaurant formerly known as Growlers is progressing with its transformation into the Waddle Inn and has applied for a city permit to expand its space to add four bowling lanes.

A public hearing on the conditional use permit for the expansion at 6715 W. North Avenue was held Feb. 24 before the Common Council, and no one spoke against it. The Plan Commission took up the matter March 9 and voted unanimously to recommend approval.

If the Common Council votes in favor of the permit at its March 24, the Waddle Inn will be able to expand the footprint of its current restaurant to occupy an adjacent, vacant space on the east side of its building. The four lanes planned there would offer a kind of mini-bowling, similar to regulation lanes but shorter and intended for all ages.
