A design rendering of a proposed redevelopment of the southeast corner of Wauwatosa and North avenues, from the angle of the northwest corner, was included in Luther Group's design application.

A grocery store might be coming to the southeast corner of Wauwatosa and North avenues, across from the Wauwatosa Public Library, and that would be a significant shift from the substantial apartment development once planned for that prominent property.

The city's Design Review Board is scheduled to discuss the designs at its meeting at 7 p.m. June 4 at City Hall. Two buildings are proposed for 7501 W. North Ave., the single-story "specialty grocery" estimated to total 13,000 square feet and a separate bank building labeled as about 5,000 square feet, with a drive-thru, according to the design application.
