The California-based TOSA Foundation was founded by Wauwatosa natives John and Tashia Morgridge, who previously have given generously to community projects in their hometown.
The change, announced Aug. 18 in an email to parents, is "intended to help students establish healthy boundaries with technology use and promote positive sleep habits."
Wauwatosa property owners received new assessments in July that increased on average 54% from the old assessments, though individual increases have varied.

Numerous businesses and organizations, both along the Menomonee River and in higher-ground neighborhoods, have temporarily closed for cleanup, repairs and renovations.
The renewed interest in a business improvement district comes more than a decade after a similar campaign failed to rally enough support from stakeholders.
