All 12 council seats are up for election on April 7 as the city moves to a new district configuration, but only three of those districts have contested elections. Tosa Forward News contacted each candidate in those three races to learn more about their backgrounds and their reasons for running.
Five applicants are seeking conditional use permits, which are scheduled for approval on Feb. 24 when the Wauwatosa Common Council meets at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall and on Zoom.
The latest project to request city assistance through tax incremental financing is a 204-apartment development that Irgens hopes to build on a vacant 3.7-acre parcel on the northeast corner of Mayfair Road and Wisconsin Avenue.
Under the plan, the city would borrow and spend up to $34.2 million on projects in and near the Research Park, helping to increase the city’s tax base by more than $100 million.
