Candidates file for state Legislature, with several contested races in Tosa districts

Two of the most closely watched elections this fall in Wauwatosa will be for the open seats in Senate District 5 and Assembly District 13.

Wisconsin — and Wauwatosa — got a first look last week at the races for state Senate and Assembly, with several contested races shaping up for districts that include parts of Tosa.

The filing deadline for candidates for state office was June 1. The primaries for contested partisan contests is Aug. 11, and the general election is Nov. 3. Members of the Assembly are elected for two-year terms, while senators are elected for four-year terms.
