It's a prominent triangular lot on a busy intersection in Tosa Village. The parcel at 7746 Menomonee River Parkway also is barely a quarter acre — a tight fit for new construction.
Now we have a better sense for what it might look like when a developer moves forward with plans for a dozen or so housing units on that lot, just north of the Harmonee Avenue bridge.
On Aug. 6, JJH3group will discuss detailed designs and specifications for two planned buildings at a meeting of the city's Design Review Board, the latest step toward redeveloping the long-vacant parcel. JJH3group reached an agreement last year with the city's Community Development Authority to purchase the lot, and in April, the Common Council approved a term sheet to provide $880,000 in incentives through the tool known as tax increment financing, or TIF.
“I think everybody’s excited about what we’re trying to do and excited about the location,” Jeffrey Hook of JJH3group told the BizTimes, which reported that the development, named Sonne, is estimated to cost $6.5 million. “There’s a lot of activity going on in the village (area) for good reason — it’s a place that people want to be, and people want new, interesting products.”
The Design Review Board will meet at 7 p.m. Aug. 6 at City Hall.
