Prepare to sweat your way through winter, Wauwatosa.

Heat Haven Sauna Park, a newly launched business featuring barrel-shaped saunas, cold plunges and other wellness offerings, is scheduled to open Nov. 21 for its first season at Wauwatosa's Hart Park.

Such an attraction expects to be something completely different for the city's central recreational area. Look for Heat Haven's new mobile setup when it nestles soon among the senior center, football stadium, tennis courts and pedestrian trails.

“Hart Park hosts so many incredible outdoor recreation and lifestyle activities in the warmer months,” Beth Gleesing, Discover Wauwatosa tourism specialist, said in a city news release. “We’re excited to partner with Heat Haven to utilize this space in a new and fun way that supports community interaction and benefits local businesses.”

Business partners Jesse Hieb and Ryan Bingham launched Heat Haven to introduce local residents to what they describe in their proposal as “one of the fastest-growing global wellness trends.” They have invested in portable sauna facilities that they have begun setting up around the region as short-term pop-up installations, and they envision a semi-permanent public sauna park in Wauwatosa as an “attraction that strengthens winter tourism and diversifies what the city offers.”

The Hart Park saunas' opening Nov. 21-23 weekend will feature live music, yoga and movement classes, in addition to the sauna sessions. Saunas or sauna/movement packages can be booked online at HeatHaven.co.

“The idea is to create a community that shares a passion for a healthy lifestyle,” Hieb said in the city's news release. “We want to collaborate with local fitness leaders so participants can discover the services already available right here in Wauwatosa.”

Additional details about the new business can be found in Tosa Forward News' previous reporting on Heat Haven.
