Nominees sought for Distinguished Citizen Award by April 3 deadline
Published:

Do you know someone who has made a significant contribution to civic life in Wauwatosa? The Wauwatosa Distinguished Citizen Award Council is taking nominations for its 2025 award until April 3.

The Distinguished Citizen Award has been given out since 1964 and honors people "who have made significant voluntary contributions to community life in Wauwatosa to make this city such a great place to live," the council said in its call for nominations.

An information packet about the award and how to nominate someone can be found online here.

Nominees need not be Tosa residents, though they should have demonstrated contributions to community life without receiving compensation for those contributions — in other words, as a volunteer and not as part of a paid job. Also, elected officials are not eligible during their term in office.

A recognition event for this year's winner will be planned in June.
