Several prospective food businesses will go before the Common Council on Sept. 29 for public hearings on their applications for conditional use permits, including tacos on State Street, a sushi restaurant in Mayfair Mall and a cafe specializing in Mexican brunch planned for the former Highlands Cafe location on 60th Street.
Information on all the proposed restaurants is available on the city's meeting portal. The hearings at the council's 7:15 p.m. meeting can be attended in person at City Hall or online on Zoom.
The Plan Commission then would consider the proposals for recommendations at its Oct. 12 meeting, with final approval by the council possible at its Oct. 27 meeting.
The following are summaries of some of the restaurants seeking permits.
