Residents in Wauwatosa's District 11 have two familiar candidates to choose from, incumbents Melissa Dolan and Mike Morgan, when they vote on Election Day, April 7, to fill their district's Common Council seat.

They also have some less familiar names from outside the city that are hoping to influence their vote.

A Washington, D.C.-based political group known as State + Local Election Alliance has spent $7,541 in the past month in support of Dolan's candidacy for the District 11 seat race through pro-Dolan mailers, online advertising and phone-based appeals. The group's financial disclosures to the Wisconsin Ethics Commission don't say why it invested in this race, though its website says its goal is "defending democracy where it is most vulnerable" by "actively monitoring and investing in battleground states, with a focus on jurisdictions that will shape elections in 2026, 2028, and beyond."
