Summer is almost upon us, and there already are plenty of reasons to get out and about in Wauwatosa. Like, live music.
Tosa Tonight released its lineup of nine Wednesday evening concerts starting June 17, returning to Hart Park's Rotary Stage. Not to be outdone, Tosa Village released its lineup for TosaFest's 50th year, Sept. 11 and 12.
And you might have heard about a certain bike race? The Tour of America's Dairyland returns to the village for the series' final race on June 28.
The city's parks are also open for visitors, including Hart Park's stadium, now back in use after flood repairs. And the city announced May 22 on social media that Hart Park's playground and splash pad have both reopened.

But over in Firefly Grove Park, Mama Rosa has been shrouded in plastic, apparently getting a maintenance makeover.
“Mama Rosa is undergoing an eco-friendly spa treatment to preserve her for years to come,” City Communications Manager Eva Ennamorato told OnMilwaukee for its story on the park's popular troll sculpture. “Visibility may be limited as a crew completes the work."

Earlier today, we posted this update on the Wauwatosa School District and the Right at School after-school program. Tosa police decided not to pursue criminal charges in two incidents between program staff and students at Roosevelt and Eisenhower elementary schools.
After posting the story, we were referred to violations related to the incident at Roosevelt that were logged online by the state Department of Children and Families. In a brief description, it says "a staff member pulled a student by their sweatshirt while laying on the [ground] and later restrained and carried the child into the bathroom."
The Wauwatosa Common Council took up several items at its meeting Tuesday, including a new location for the planned Wauwatosa Veterans Memorial. With the council's approval, the memorial's planners hope to have construction finished by Veterans Day.
In the meantime, the city's Memorial Day observance is scheduled for 9 a.m. May 25 at Hart Park's Muellner Building.
Bublr Bikes is looking to expand its presence in Wauwatosa, after some council members questioned the level of city subsidy for the service during budget discussions at the end of last year. Bublr's plans may include a greater presence on the west side of the city. As of now, only one Bublr station is located west of I-41.
